We LOVE working with Occupational Therapists (OT)! We recently had a patient who sees the OT at their school. Here is the report from the OT:
“You had asked for some feedback about effectiveness of the [bi] nasal occlusion tape. This is too good and too important. He IMMEDIATELY jumped 2 reading levels when tested and instead of always looking over the tops of his glasses, he now looks through them and keeps them up on his nose most of the time. He told me it helped with both his reading and writing. Observing him walking down the hall, I wished I’d done a video of him before for comparison because I really feel he walked more upright and more confidently…”
Report from teacher: “I did another running record with D at a level I and he did great. He is at an instructional I reading fiction and nonfiction. I feel more comfortable switching him now that I tested him again. He was at a level G. I think that has totally helped what she did with his glasses. He keeps them on his face much more for sure!”
We love hearing stories like this– no therapy needed, only a lens change made a HUGE difference!
